President's Message

President's Message Meaghan Levy, CPM, CCIM

Happy New Year! On behalf of our entire board, we hope that your year is filled with joy, peace and prosperity.
We are seeing a lot of our members active in property management spend more time than ever doing tasks that took a fraction of the time a year and a half ago. It seems more challenging to keep on top of our aged receivables and keep our properties looking great for less. IREM can add value by helping you do more in your day. If you are not already using our local industry partners, please consider doing so – we have already vetted them for you and they are recommended by a member, so, you can be confident you are using a professional, conscientious company on your assets.
Another area that IREM can assist you is the comprehensive array of courses we offer for individuals pursuing their Accredited Residential Manager (ARM ®) certification or your Certified Property Manager (CPM ®) certification. Our webinars are cutting-edge and IREM is leading the industry in our ancillary educational offerings. Education is more critical now than it has ever been and IREM is here to support our members.
In times of trouble and stress, people tend to forget that we are all human with feelings (and bad days). When dealing with someone that is challenging to you, try to remember we are all here to do the best job we can and nobody intentionally is doing a bad job. In the words of our 2009 president, Anne Alba, give someone a mulligan – for their sake and your own. It is always better to take the high road, I promise.
Until next time, be good to yourselves and each other.
My goal this year is to add value for each of our members. Where can we add value for you? Feel free to reach out to me at meaghan.levy@cbre.com with any suggestions you have.

Meaghan Levy
2010 President
